Beautiful interior and lots of seating both inside and outside the building. Came for a stop to have some coffee with friends and there is a wide range of drinks available and even ice cream. I got a matcha latte and it tasted great and not watery at all. Will love to come back to get to try their other drinks or ice cream flavours.
The location is perfect, most people end up here after their hike at Belfountain. It also seems to be the meeting space for bikers. There is limited seating inside and several tables (covered) outside.. besides serving bagels, pastries, ice cream, cold a& hot beverage, they also sell merchandise like honey & fudge etc I had the lemonade, Spinach & Feta Pastry & mango ice cream. All were good and reasonably priced. Overall, great place to check out when in the area.
July 6, 2024 - We planned a ride up to Forks of the Credit and decided to pop into Higher Ground Cafe for a quick lunch before heading back home. Parking at the site was packed so we had to park on the street, making sure not to block any resident driveway. The outdoor picnic tables were already occupied, but we found an unoccupied long table inside the cafe at the back. What luck until we saw that it was situated right in front of the 2 unisex washrooms. We were a group of 4 and this table could easily fit 8-10. There’s a mish-mash of patrons on this particular day, from cycling groups, motorcycle groups, tourists, and families. The place isn’t particularly large considering, the number of customers, so many are standing outside, by their car, or by their bikes. Ordering food is abit of a lineup but its worth the wait. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Wrap and it was delicious! They do not serve alcohol so set your expectations accordingly. They do sell ice cream!
Higher Ground Cafe is such a vibe! The moment you walk in, you’re hit with the coolest aesthetic—it’s cozy, stylish, and just really well put together. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to snap a few pics before you even order. The cake maple walnut cake was so good. Seriously, every bite is delicious—super fresh and full of flavor. And the drinks totally live up to the hype too. The staff are super friendly and the whole place just has a really welcoming feel. Whether you’re chilling with friends, getting some work done, or just need a treat, Higher Ground is the perfect spot. Definitely one of my new favorite cafes
This cafe is definitely a must try. It gives a very cozy atmosphere especially after a drive there. It is very quietly and peaceful there. Sometimes parking may be a bit hard due to the limit availability but they free up every few mins. Overall, a really good experience.
Last Sunday my friend and i went there for a quick outing along side a brunch. I have been there many times and it always gets better every time i go to this place. Love the coffee and food.
We always drive all the way from Mississauga to Belfountain... Not just for the scenic beauty but also for Higher ground cafe. The coffee is great. The ice creams are fabulous and they define true flavor.
On Sunday I took a scenic drive up to Higher Ground with the intention of enjoying a hot beverage with a client but instead I was pleasantly tempted to order the Mediterranean Square and Flatbread - let me tell you that it did not disappoint! Any hunger or savoury cravings you might have will definitely be satisfied by these two delicious options. I’m glad that we decided to order two of each as sharing would not be a voluntary option - once you take the first bite, you will want to finish it entirely on your own! Served warm at just the right temperature, both options were flavourful and the perfect portion size. Naturally we did also enjoy a perfectly frothed cappuccino and latte made to order. They have a great variety of tasty treats and other items for both your home, pantry and even your family pet - so no one is left out. Surrounded by rustic/farmhouse decor, the ambiance is both cozy and comfortable. When weather permits, they even have an outdoor seating area with Muskoka chairs to enjoy your visit and take in the scenery. As the warmer weather arrives, this place is in high demand as many people come to enjoy the nature that surrounds it, so give yourself the time you need to enjoy the experience. A favourite stop for us, for many years now - definitely worth the trip!!
